Our Packhorse Days have had amazing reviews and are a perfect way experience much of what the landscape has to offer..
SOLD OUTFrom our base at the foot of Loughrigg, we take families and groups on a one day adventure with beautiful horses carrying the load, following part of an ancient pack horse route with stunning views of Rydal Water. Winston Churchill said “There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man.” As true as this is, you will get so much more mental and physiological benefits from the many ways that we teach you to walk with the herd. The sense of awe and inspiration that can be achieved from truly connecting with horses can be transformational. Horses have very keen and acute biological function that keep them connected as a herd. Their sensitivity means they can co-synchronise their central nervous systems. They can detect a heart rate from four meters aways and mimic this in order to feel the threat of a predator. They can smell hormonal changes in our sweat and tears. Learning to regulate your emotions and calm your body to complete stillness evokes deep connection. Equally, raising your energy to meet their spirited exuberance can create a connection with these beautiful animals will help you hear them and see yourself with new light and perspective. Your journey will include bushcraft, a delicious meal cooked on an open fire, wild swimming and a bare-footing adventure in the forest. A transformational and unforgettable journey. Dates and times are available on request and subject to availability.
